What springs to mind when you say the word “toning”? For most people, it is likely to be the image of a firmer body with more definition. Getting rid of any soft wobbly fat bits, leaving you with a firm body that doesn’t sag. I know that when I started out, that is exactly what I thought. I wanted to firm up, and blast away the fat wobbly bits, particularly from around my stomach and legs. I wasn’t exactly fat, but I was out of shape and was tired of having to cover my body up to prevent embarrassment.

When thinking about how to tone your body, we need to think about exactly what works to achieve the desired look. Most people think that it’s all about lifting weights, however after much research, I soon discovered that the truth was the main way to achieve a toned body is through following the correct diet. Click here to see what opened my eyes In essence, toning your stomach, legs, arms, or in fact any part of your body requires the same action = Good diet combined with effective exercise.

How lean we are is dictated by how much of our muscles definition is visible, the greater the amount of fat, the less toned your body will appear. So even if you had super strong muscles, if they are covered in a thick wobbly layer of fat, you will never see them. Therefore, if you want to tone your body, the primary focus has to be on lowering overall body fat.

People will often waste their time and effort by focusing on weight lifting to achieve the toned look. I know because I have been there, and wasted hours in the gym for nothing. They also buy into the idea of spot toning – that you can target specific areas of your body. Working out in the gym focusing on one area of your body will not burn any of the fat in the area. Targetting an area with weight lifting will simply not burn any fat in that specific area. We need to ensure that our focus is on our diet, and burning enough fat to lower our total body fat enough, so that we have a lean and supple look. This is the best way to tone your body.

By following the exercises and diet plan layed out on this website, I managed to drastically improve the firmness of my body in under a month. The great thing was that there is no calorie counting, tiresome weight lifting, or expensive pills to take. The eating plan is original, and the exercises layed out our effective, simple, and didn’t kill me! The best thing about it though, is that it worked for my entire body. By reducing my overall body fat, my stomach, legs, arms, and butt all become firmer and more defined.

5 Tips To Help You Get A Toned Body

Posted in Uncategorized on October 15th, 2010 by Anna – Be the first to comment

In this post I thought I would share a few tips that I have learnt which have definitely helped me when following my diet and exercise regime.

1. Dump the fast food permanently. If you follow the same diet as me, then you will obviously be aiming to lower your body fat. Many people do the 80/20 rule where they treat themselves sometimes to their favourite fast food. I never do this though, as I found it just made things so much harder. Take my advice, and dump the fatty junk food permanently. After a week or two of going cold turkey, the cravings will be gone for good, and you will just not miss it anymore!

2. Go to the gym with friends. I found I dreaded the gym a lot less when I was going with some friends. It passes the time much faster when you have a few of the girls together for chit chat.. Alternatively work out at home – after doing a ton of research on elliptical reviews I purchased a home elliptical machine, which meant i could workout whenever I wanted.

3. Try to stay busy. What I mean by that is taking the stairs instead of the lift, walking instead of driving. I think these little things helped a lot when toning my body up.

4. Do something at least once per day. Go for a walk, play outside with the kids, whatever – just try to do at least one physical activity every day to prevent yourself falling into bad habits.

5. Drink TONS of water. I found that drinking water suppressed my appetite and calmed the urge to snack. I also found that being well hydrated made me feel a lot fresher and more energetic.

Hope these small tips helped guys, feel free to share yours in the comments below :)

Welcome To My Blog About How To Tone Your Body

Posted in Uncategorized on October 15th, 2010 by Anna – Be the first to comment

A few months ago I started a new diet and exercise program (check it out here) in my quest to tone my body. After having my eyes completely opened, and experiencing some great results, I decided to start a blog about how I toned my body to see if I could help others in a similar position to me. I will try to share as much information as possible, and provide some tips and tricks that I have found really useful.

It would be great to hear from other people who have tried this diet too, and maybe you could share some of your hints to help other people tone their bodies fast and effectively!

One of the biggest myths about body toning which I feel is holding lots of people back, is the idea of spot toning = toning one specific area of the body. If you have tried this, then you will know that it simply does not work! Hopefully I can contribute to busting this myth with my blog. I can categorically say that the single most effective method for toning my body has been changing my diet and the way I eat. Educating myself about food, and finding out how food can help burn fat is the main reason that I have achieved a body firmer than I have had since I was a teenager!
